My Pink Stamper Design Team Call Submission!

**If you are looking for the Christmas in July Blog Hop post please scroll down! **

Robyn from My Pink Stamper is having a design team call and this time I am going to try out. I am nervous and excited at the same time. The first time I ever visited a site to learn about the Cricut, it was her site that I visited. I love all the tutorials she has on the Cricut and she also has her own line of really cute stamps! If you haven't heard of her or would like to learn more about her stamps or your Cricut machine, please visit her site at MyPinkStamper.com.

In order to get picked for her design team, you have to do the following;

Challenge: Make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project with your favorite Cricut cartridge using the following colors......

Orange
Turquoise
Green
Brown
(other optional color of your choice)... I chose Pink because it is my favorite!

For this challenge I chose to use my new Sweet Tooth Boxes Cartridge and I wanted to make a cupcake box because I thought it was adorable. I also wanted to show through this challenge that I am not afraid of trying new things. Usually I like to watch tutorials on how to make detailed projects like this but since it is a new cartridge I just made it on my own. The best part of the project is that an actual cupcake will fit inside the cupcake box. Such a cute idea for a birthday party!

Here is what I made:

Recipe:

My Expression 2
Cricut Projects Sweet Tooth Boxes Cartridge - Cupcake cut at 8"
DCWV the Celebration Stack polka dot paper
Chatterbox Chocolate Tweed Paper
American Crafts Ribbon
Scrap Pink Paper
Studio G Sweet Clear Stamps
(used sentiments I love cupcakes & Have your cake and eat it too)
White Gel Pen
Martha Stewart blank ink pad

I hope you love my project as much as I do. My dream design team would be to be on My Pink Stampers. Robyn is so sweet and I love the stamps that she produces!
Wish me luck! I know that I will be praying that I make it!

Operation Write Home: Love Challenge

Today is Operation Write Home Project Day!

. Kassidy from Inking It Up Crazy paired up with We R Memory Keepers to make and send cards to the troops that they can write on and send home.

Today there will be all different challenges and giveaways at Inking Up Crazy and the best part is that all the cards are going to be sent to the troops to use to send home!

For my challenge, I was asked to make a LOVE card. This wouldn't normally be a challenge for me because I love cutesy love cards. But I thought a lot about what a soldier would want a card to say that they sent home to family and this is what I came up with...

Card 1:

I love this sentiment it says Love You To My Core and it is from Paper Smooches stamps. I thought I would use it on both cards to emphasize how much love one person could feel for another.

Recipe:
Give a Hoot (earth cut out) Cricut Cartridge, Brown Recollections Cardstock, Paper Smooches sentiment, Stampin Up Chocolate Chip Ink, Martha Stewarts Bakers Twine, Cosmo Cricket Togetherness Paper, Paper Accents Tag, White Gel Pen, Misc Cardstock.

This card doesn't have the amount of embellishment that I normally put on my cards but I do think it turned out really well.

Card 2:

I love how this card turned out also. Not too cutesy to send home but it strikes a chord to whoever is receiving it.

Recipe:
Give A Hoot Cricut Cartridge, Togetherness Paper from Cosmo Cricket, Recollections Brown Cardstock, White Gel Pen, Paper Smooches sentiment stamp, Martha Stewart Bakers Twine, Stampin Up Chocolate Chip Ink Pad.

I hope you enjoyed my two cards that I am sending in. I think this is a great project to participate and I hope that whoever ends up receiving these card truly enjoys them!

You can participate too! Please visit Inking it Up Crazy to read the rules and see all the challenges! I am hoping to make as many projects as I can while my kids are running around!

Kassidy's Month Long Birthday Bash- Cosmo Cricket Day!

My friend Kassidy at Inking it Up Crazy is celebrating her June birthday with a month long amount of posts/giveaway prizes. She has asked some of us to do projects as well and I was thrilled to do this project using Cosmo Cricket paper. What is great is that I just got my Expression 2 which came with a Cosmo Cricket inspired cartridge called Just a Note installed on it! So I used both for my project. The cartridge and Cosmo Cricket paper. If anyone knows anything about me they know that I heart Cosmo Cricket. It is one of my favorite kinds of paper, I love the patterns, the colors and most of all the animals! This time using their paper I used more calmer paper than my normal love of everything bright and made a Fathers Day card for my husband. I used the fox cut out of a dad and a son and then I flipped the image to make another son since I have two boys. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Recipe:

Expression 2
Just a Note
Cosmo Cricket Togetherness patterned paper
White, Brown, red, pink, green and blue scrap paper
Paper Smooches Dad sentiment stamp (one of my favorite stamp makers)
American Craft brown ribbon
Stampin it Up Chocolate Chip brown ink

This is one card I know he will enjoy!

Mothers Day Card #3: My Pink Stamper Challenge + Echo Park Paper Challenge

This is the first card that I made for Mothers Day using my new Expression 2! The cards got better as I made them but I still like it a lot. I just got Echo Parks new 6x6 paper stacks on Friday and then they announced a challenge for National Scrapbooking Day to use their paper in the projects that you make and you could win some of their paper lines. Also My Pink Stamper listed 12 challenges throughout the day on Saturday and for this one I used her challenge of using pink, green and black to make a card. I am not big on black for Mothers Day so I just used a black gel pen and hopefully that is good enough!

Recipe:

Cricut American Alphabet
Cricut Essentials
Echo Park Summer Days patterned paper
Misc blue cardstock
Purple ribbon from Target
Lilac Twine from the Twinery
Misc button
ATG gun

Black Gel Pen

Design Team Day~ Man Card

Today is Inking it Up Crazy Design Team Day. This week our challenge was to make a man card. I wanted to use a new cartridge so I opened Just Because Cards. I found a card that says "Catch You Later" I started with that but I ended up wanting it to say "You're a Catch." Lucky for me on the next page it had the saying "You're a Hoot." So I combined the two sayings to make my card. I also wanted a cuter fish so I used the goldfish from the B is for Boy Lite Cartridge. I added some wonderful Twine from the Twinery and an Action Wobble and tada~! I hope you love it as much as I do!

Products Used:

Just Because Cards Cricut Cartridge
B is for Boy Cricut Cartridge
Twine from the Twinery (LOVE IT)
Action Wobble

So dont forget to start at Inking it Up Crazy and check out the man cards that the design team made. I am so lucky to be on such a wonderful design team with some uber talented ladies.

Happy Thursday! A Quick and Easy Birthday Card

My kids got sick last weekend with the flu and I had to miss my Grandma's 80th birthday party. I finally got to see her last night and I had to quickly make her a birthday card. I just got Wild Card and so I opened it and made her a cupcake card. Normally I would take a lot of time to make her a card, just this month is hectic especially with my kids being sick. Anyways my Grandma loved the card so that is all that matters!

Recipe:

Wild Card Cupcake Card cut at 6 inches
Misc Scrap Cardstock: brown, pink white
White Gel Pen
Zig Pen

Hope you like what I made! The Wild Card cartridge is a great cartridge to have if you need to make a card without taking a lot of time to make it!

Inking it Up Crazy - Design Team Home Decor Project

This week for the Inking it Up Crazy design team the theme was "home decor." I had never made anything for our house so it was a bit of a stretch for me. I remembered that my friend Brittany made some cute blocks that said "Boo" for Halloween. I decided to take that idea and make our last name on blocks instead. I had my husband cut 6 inch blocks from a 2x4 piece of wood and then I began to craft. I found a really cute line of paper from My Minds Eye, cut the letters from Mini Monograms on my Cricut and the rest was history. I love these blocks and now they are displayed on a shelf in our home for everyone to see.

To see the rest of the design team projects please visit Inking It Up Crazy and leave us a comment if you like what we have made.

Also dont forget that I only need 22 followers until I give away a Sizzix Sidekick. So if you havent become a follower yet, please do!

Exploring Cartridges with Kassidy~ Give A Hoot

Today I am exploring cartridges with Kassidy from Inking It Up Crazy I happen to be lucky enough to be on her talented design team and she asked one of us to explore a cartridge with her so of course I volunteered. She chose the cartridge Give A Hoot and I am really glad that she did because I bought it when I first got my Cricut because it has owls on it and I love owls. Then I never ended up making anything with it. This is a cartridge full of cute animals but a lot of the sayings are about recycling and saving the planet. I am all about saving the planet and recycling but did not know how to coordinate this with scrapbooking and card making. After being challenged to use it, I was really suprised at how versatile it is. I have many plans of camping, hunting and outdoor scrapbook pages that I want to make with it.

The first picture I posted is of our recycling can in our house. I wanted to make it kid friendly since I am teaching the boys about recycling and why it is important to recycle. I thought if I made it more interesting for them, then they would want to help out.

Products Used:

Give A Hoot Raccoon and "Recycle" Phrase
Post it Craft Paper (all the colors)
Clear Contact Paper
Elmers Craft Bond Spray Adhesive

It turned out great. I used the Elmers Craft Bond so it would adhere better and I used the contact paper so I could wipe the surface down if I needed to and so the cut outs would stay dry.

I wanted to show how this cartridges is so great in many different ways so I used the Earth cut out and some of my Changito the monkey stamps and made my husband a manly Valentine's Day card. I really love how it turned out and he liked it better than the red/pink one I made for my Valentine's Day post.

Products Used:

White Cardstock
Silver Celebrate It Holiday Ribbon
DCWV patterned paper
Brown Cardstock
White Gel Pen
Core'dinations Blue Glitter Paper
Stampendous Changito the monkey stamp
Stampendous Changito sentiment stamp
Star stamp (bought at a garage sale- not sure where its from)
Green, silver ink pads

on the inside I wrote "and you mean the world to me" I also cut around the monkey so I could slide the Earth behind him as if he were holding it up.

I am so glad that I was challenged to explore this cartridge. I put it away when I first got it because it wasnt what I was expecting. As I went through it I have so many ideas of future projects that I would like to make. I think over time that this cartridge will get lots of use and will become one of my most favorite cartridges. To see what Kassidy discovered about this cartridge please visit her site. I cant wait to see what she liked the most about this cartridge that neither of us has really used.

Inking it Up Crazy Valentines Day Design Team Project ~U Stole My Heart

Happy Valentine's Day! Today is our second project for the Inking It Up Crazy Design Team. We had to make something that was both red and pink. I had such a hard time picking a project to do and then I ended up throwing 4 different half done projects away because I didnt like how they were turning out. Finally I came up with a really cute idea but I didnt know how to fit in on a regular sized card so I just ended up making a really big card. :) While making this card I kept my husband in mind as the recipient (except for the colors) because we met on a blind date 11 years ago and he really did steal my heart. (I did make him a more "manly" card that I will have on here tomorrow)

Recipe for Card:

Create a Critter: Raccoon & red embellishment with hearts cut out
Plantin Schoolbook: Letters & black shape cutout
Making Memories Love Story Jigsaw Glitter Chipboard Shapes
Martha Stewart Bakers Twine
White Gel Pen
Black Gel Pen
Black Core'dinations Cardstock (my favorite basic cardstock)
DCVW Flower Shower patterned paper
Me & My Big Ideas flower die cut
Color Box white ink pad
Clear Alphabet Stamps: "my"
White Cardstock, pink cardstock
Recollections red sparkly cardstock

I hope you love my "U Stole My Heart" card. I had a lot of fun making it after scrapping so many other projects. It turned out just like I had envisioned it. I am really fortunate to be on such an awesome team of talented crafters. Please go check out the other amazing projects at Inking it Up Crazy and leave a comment there if you liked the projects that we made. Dont forget to become a follower of my blog because I am going to give away a Sizzix Sidekick die cut machine when I reach 100 followers. Happy Valentine's Day ~ I hope you spend it with the ones that you love!

Inking It Up Crazy Design Team - First Project!!!

I am so excited to have made the Inking it Up Crazy Design Team! Today we have all made our first projects and I am excited to share mine with you! For our first project we had to make anything that had to do with LOVE! I was inspired for my project by a pink button that was in a bag of buttons my mom gave me. From there I made a pig using Create a Critter but I made it too big for a card so I decided to make it into a scrapbook page. This is my second ever scrapbook page and I hope you enjoy it! When I think of Love, I think of my three boys (including my husband) so this page is really fitting to the theme of my project...

Recipe for Page:

Create A Critter Cartridge
Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge
Paper: DCWV Flower Shower Stack, Misc Solid Scrap Paper
Purple Sparkly Core'dinations Cardstock (my favorite paper ever!)
White Gel Pen
Misc buttons and heart accents
American Craft Ribbon
Spots N Dots Cuttlebug Folder - first time using my Cuttlebug!

Thank you for viewing my project! Now go back to Kassidy's page at http://inkingitupcrazy.blogspot.com/ and check out the rest of the design team! They are all really talented ladies and I am so greatful to be a part of the team!

Dont forget to become a follower of my blog as I am giving away a Sizzix Sidekick when I reach 100 followers! Have a great weekend!
