I Love Roo, A Challenge And My First Giveaway!!!

So my friend Paula has Wacky Wednesday challenges every week and since this is her #23 challenge (one of my lucky numbers) I decided to enter. The theme is green, pink and brown which means you have to encorporate these colors into your creation. If you get picked (randomly) you can win a new Cricut Disney cartridge. To view the info on the challenge visit http://morethanfavors.blogspot.com/ and make something and enter!

I decided to make a Valentines Day card using my Cricut. I used the kangaroo from my new Birthday Bash cartridge (which I have out to make Hunter a birthday card), the writing is from Plantin Schoolbook and the shaped background is from Live Simply. I have never used any of these cartridges yet so it made me happy to get them all out and use them. (And I got inspired to make more cuts as I looked through the booklets)

Recipe for Card:

Brown Core'dinations Cardstock
Pink scrap cardstock
Green scrap cardstock
Green Core'dinations sparkly cardstock
Zig Pen
ATG gun
Pink Stickles which I painted on the heart balloon
Scrap button
Martha Stewart bakers twine (which Paula actually bought for me because I couldnt find it)

If you would like the dimensions of each cut, please leave me a message and I will get them to you. I chose to say I Love (heart) Roo because I thought it was original and cute.

So this is my submission for her challenge, I hope that I win! The cartridge she is giving away would be perfect to scrapbook our trip to Disneyland this past March. (our first time there!)

Anyways I also am doing my first giveaway! I only have 31 followers (who I love to pieces) and would like to get to 100! (I know I can do it!) So spread the word... If you are one of my followers when I get to 100 you are going to be put in a drawing to win a Sizzix Sidekick! This is a die cutting and embossing machine (you do have to buy folders for it unless I find some by the time I reach 100 followers) So have your friends become my friends and leave a message on this post that you are a follower. I will randomly choose a winner (random.org) when I reach 100. For an extra bonus, if you enter Paula More Than Favors Wacky Wednesday Challenge (ends on Feb. 1st) please leave a comment on this post and you will receive 5 more entries into the Sizzix giveaway!

Hope you like my card! Send all your friends to follow me because we could all use more friends right?

Inking it Up Crazy Design Team Call

So I dont get to craft as much as I like. (Well that is an understatement LOL) But I love to make things. On Friday I heard that Inking it Up Crazy (Kassidy) was having a design team call (which means if you get on her team then you have to make certain projects using your Cricut a couple times a month). I have only tried out for one other design team because I am pretty new at this, and I have never been picked for one but someday I hope to be picked. I made a Valentines Day card to submit while I was repairing our washing machine (hey I am a busy mom). I love how it turned out!

Recipe for Card:

Cricut
Cricut Sampler cartridge (got for free! Thank you cricutmachine.com)
Stock black and pink cardstock
American Craft heart ribbon ($1 section)
White Gel Pen
Karen Foster Metals Alpha Charms (picked up for cheap at a garage sale)
Red Martha Stewart bakers twine (Thank you Paula More Than Favors for finding it for me)
K&Company Sleepy Tree Paper (inside striped paper)
Glue Dots
Pink ATG gun
Provo Craft stamp (didnt work out as well as I liked because it wouldnt fit where I wanted it - for the writing) Says "Is all u need"

Anyways whatever the outcome of the design team call (there are so many talented ladies to chose from) I am just glad I made a cute card! Hope you like it!

Birthday Buckets

Wow. I need to get blogging more. Sometimes life is so busy, I forget to sit down and capture the moment so I can remember the little things. Right now we are potty training so things are a little crazy in our house. Anyways every year (so far) we throw my boys a joint birthday party since their birthdays are about a month apart. The party is tomorrow and is a Toy Story themed birthday. My mom picked up some Toy Story buckets after Easter last year really cheap and I have held onto them in anticipation of their party but she only got about 10. There are about 25 kids coming to the party so I picked up some neon green buckets so I had enough. (I still dont have enough though LOL) I thought I would jazz up the buckets so no kid would feel like they didnt get a "cool" bucket. I am in the midst of getting them all done and then putting cute tags on each bucket with the childs name if I have enough time.

I used 3M Post It Craft Paper for the Toy Story characters using the Toy Story Cricut Cartridge. Not only am I in love with the Toy Story Cricut Cartridge but I think I could kiss the 3M paper. It has an adhesive back so it sticks pretty easily to whatever you are adhering it to. Unfortunately for me, it wont stick very well to plastic. I tried adding adhesive to the bucket (Elmers Craft Bond Spray Adhesive) but it made a big mess. So then I tried clear contact paper I picked up at Walmart. (it comes in a huge roll for $5) It still didnt stick. (I need to find a glue that sticks to anything, I always have problems with my glue not sticking). Finally I used the Elmers Craft Bond and the contact paper (spraying a light mist onto the sticky part of the contact paper after my image was set) and it seems to be sticking. Fingers crossed. I also have 2 really cute ideas for thank you cards so I will be posting those as I make them. If I finish the name tags for the buckets I will post a pic of that too!

Hope you like what I have made!
